Italian Riviera Gin
Dry and soft gin with grape distillate base
Riviera Italian Gin is produced with the compound method on a base of alcohol distilled from wine, precisely from Tuscan Sangiovese grapes. On the nose, the sweet notes of grapes prevail in a distinctive way without being intrusive, then leaving room for juniper and warm notes of cinnamon and ginger. The aromaticity of the botanicals is very well balanced, leaving a dry but round and pleasant taste. The aromatic profile is shifted to tastes close to the Italian palate, therefore it is good to drink with a non-invasive persistence. Thanks to this unobtrusive taste, it goes perfectly with gourmet cuisine.
THE FIRST ITALIAN GIN WHOSE BASE IS DISTILLED FROM WINE
The recipe is said to have been created by a British officer stationed in the city of Rimini during World War II, overcome with nostalgia for his distillate, and by Virgilio Leardini a landowner who then kept the recipe in his family drawers, rediscovered many years later by his great-grandson Alessandro.
Today, Riviera Gin, produced in an ancient Tuscan distillery, is the only gin in Italy that is made from a base of Sangiovese wine.
Riviera Gin, an artisan and natural product, has among its botanicals: coriander, cinnamon, elderflower, ginger, juniper, bergamot, and sweet oranges. Thanks to its non-invasive taste, it perfectly matches gourmet cuisine.
